2020/2021 Tryouts and Parent Meeting

While much of the season is up in the air, we are starting to move forward with limited tryouts, and will be holding a Parent Meeting via Zoom. Please note the following important dates:

The following documents are our protocol for tryouts and printable waiver for participation. Please know that we are taking every precaution necessary to keep our kids, volunteers, evaluators and all of their families safe.

Also note that additional protocol for season play is coming shortly. Much of our safety measures will follow WIAA guidelines, as well as those set by the WFB school district.

2020 Jr. Dukes Summer Shot Club

Jr. Dukes, please join our 100 days of Summer basketball journey to improved skills for the 2020-2021 season! Starting June 1st, and concluding September 8th, we invite rising 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders to compete to get better. Given the situation this summer, we are offering an option for players with access to a hoop (shots made), as well as an option that does not require a basket. Time spent on additional skill work like dribbling, passing, speed and agility, and building core strength are all critical to on-court success, and will be rewarded!

One very good option for tracking shooting as well as to get ideas for skill workouts is the Homecourt App.

Reward Levels

Silver Level:  7,500+ shots made, or 75 hours working on non-shooting skills

  • WFB Basketball Shot Club T-Shirt
Gold Level: 15,000+ shots made, or 150 hours working on non-shooting skills
  • WFB Basketball Shot Club T-Shirt
  • Personalized WFB Basketball Hoodie

Platinum Level: 20,000+ shots made, or 200 hours working on non-shooting skills

  • WFB Basketball Shot Club T-Shirt
  • Personalized WFB Basketball Hoodie
  • In-Game Recognition at a WFB Varsity Game

All players should strive to spend time both shooting and working on non-shooting related skills. Both areas are critical for player development, and should be done year-round.

Reward levels ideally will be earned through:

1. Shots made

2. Hours spent on non-shooting skills

In order to be inclusive, if a player wants to do a combination (e.g. infrequent access to a hoop), then shooting hours can be added to non-shooting hours

NOTE: Game time (e.g. Summer School League or AAU games) or Team Practice time should not be included

Chapman Virtual Clinics

During "Safer at Home," our good friend and trainer, Joe Chapman, continues to offer virtual trainings and workouts. Many do not require a hoop, helping those limited with space and equipment. The trainings are affordable and fun, and are a great way to keep young players engaged, active and having fun! Workouts and pricing can be found here:
